We do1 Corinthians 12:20-24 (NIVUK)
As it is, there are many parts, but one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I don’t need you!’ And the head cannot say to the feet, ‘I don’t need you!’ On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and the parts that we think are less honourable we treat with special honour. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honour to the parts that lacked it,
The Community of Ffald-y-Brenin had developed a discipline of praying God's blessing on their local community and those who come to them. As they have done so, they have seen God bless people, places and groups in remarkable ways. Each Wednesday, we follow their pattern as we pray for the people and places and groups in our neighbourhoods and communities. As we did so today, we moved around the building, so that we faced the direction of the people we were praying for.
We prayed that those who exercise hidden ministries and those who deal with messy situations that others shy away from would know God's blessing and the appreciation of the rest of the body of God's people.
We spoke about how we can speak encouragement over one another, prayers of blessing that over-ride the words of discouragement that distract and diminish us.
We prayed for the ministry of evangelists and the priority of evangelism, praticularly that God would raise up amongst us thowe who will speak simply, clearly of Good News so that those who hear will be drawn to faith in Jesus.
